1. Supplier Information

2. Validity of the Travel Ticket and Entry Tickets

The ticket entitles the holder to one single ride on the installation and access to the visitable sites on the indicated day during normal opening hours. The cable car travel ticket also serves as a fiscal receipt (Ministerial Decree 30.06.1992) and must be kept for the entire duration of the experience.

3. Online Purchase

Tickets can be purchased via credit card on the official website and at ticketonline.funiviaetna.com. Upon completion, the user will receive the ticket by email in PDF/digital format, valid for access. If the transaction is declined by the bank, the purchase is void. Any technical issues (e.g., malfunctions, viruses) are not attributable to the operator.

4. Exclusion of the Right of Withdrawal

Pursuant to Art. 59, paragraph 1, letter n) of Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Consumer Code), the right of withdrawal does not apply to leisure services scheduled for a specific date or period. Therefore, no refunds will be granted in the following cases:

bad weather, atmospheric events, or natural causes;
volcanic activity or orders from competent authorities;
technical or operational closures of the facilities;
failure to use the ticket on the scheduled day.

5. Change of Transport Means (cable car transport only)

The attainment of the altitudes indicated on the ticket (2,500 m or 3,000 m) is guaranteed. The type of transport may vary (cable car, 4×4 vehicles, others) for operational or weather-related reasons. Such variation does not entitle the user to a full or partial refund.

6. Suspension Due to Force Majeure

a. Adverse Weather Conditions

Weather conditions at high altitudes can change rapidly. Strong winds or bad weather may result in partial or total suspension of the service at any time. No refunds will be issued. Users are advised to check weather forecasts on official channels before purchasing.

b. Volcanic Activity

In the event of an alert issued by INGV or Civil Protection, the company is required to suspend activities at high altitude. Based on the level of risk, only the cable car ride up to 2,500 m may be allowed. No refunds will be issued.

7. Ticket Use

The ticket is personal and non-transferable.
It must be shown upon request by staff.
For discounted fares, appropriate documentation must be presented.
In case of loss, a new ticket must be purchased.

8. Prices and Discounts

Prices are in Euros, including VAT.
Rates may change in case of tax or operational cost adjustments.
Resident reductions are available only at the ticket office upon presentation of ID; for residents of the Sicily Region and for persons with disabilities, entry to the Silvestri Craters is free upon presentation of a valid identity document.
At the Silvestri Craters, children aged 10 and under enter free when accompanied by a paying adult.
For the cable car “Funivia dell’Etna”, children aged 4 and under enter free when accompanied by a paying adult; ages 5–10 pay a reduced fare.

9. Transport of Animals and Luggage

Transport of small bags and mountaineering equipment is allowed.
Pets are allowed only in compliance with regulations and with staff authorization.
Inside the Silvestri Craters, bicycles are prohibited and the use of drones is forbidden.

10. Inspections and Penalties

Any abuse will result in the immediate withdrawal of the ticket, the application of penalties provided by law, and, in severe cases, notification to the competent authorities.

11. Privacy and Cookie Policy

Personal data provided during purchase is processed in accordance with current regulations (EU Regulation 2016/679) for the provision of the requested service, i.e., the sale and management of transport tickets.

12. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by Italian law. For any disputes, the competent court is the Court of Catania. EU residents may use the European procedure for small claims (Regulation (EC) No. 861/2007).
